Do you know that we can make smooth texture custard puddings like restaurants' easy? Do you like smooth texture custard pudding? If you use this recipe, you can make delicious custard pudding!
In Japan, when we hear the word "pudding", we might think of the sweet that is made from eggs and milk and looks like a jelly. However, in other countries, "pudding" does not only mean sweet like jelly. For example, dishes steamed with ingredients such as eggs, milk, flour and spices are collectively known as "puddings" in UK. In other words, "pudding" also means some dishes! This is very interesting.
This recipe was told to me by my mother when I was in junior high school student. At that time, I had a best friend and her favorite sweets was custard pudding, so I thought that I'd make custard puddings for her birthday. But I didn’t know that how to make it. Then, my mother taught me the recipe. Now, sometimes, my best friend tells me that she wants to eat my custard pudding again. This recipe is our memory.
I want you to eat this custard pudding and be happy, so I introduce this recipe to you. Why don’t you make this custard pudding for your close friends or loved ones?
Tools:
- one large mixsing bowl
- one whisk
- one hand tawel size gauze fabric (you can use 2 or 3 pieces of kitchen paper instead of gauze fabric.)
- three heat resistant containers of pudding (200cc × 3)
- one middle cook pot
- one large cook pot and lid
- one small strainer
- one large measuring cup
Ingredients: This recipe yields 3 servings.
Castard pudding liquid
- Milk - 400cc
- Eggs- 2
- Guranulated sugar or white sugar - 80g
To steam
- Water
- First, to the large bowl add the eggs and mix well with the whisk.
- Second, to the bowl that step 1 add the sugar and mix well. Set the mixture aside.
(In this step, you don't should dissolve sugar, but mix the eggs and the sugar well.) - Next, to the middle pot add the milk. And put the pot on medium heat.
When the pot start simmering, stop heat the milk before it start boiling. - Aside the pot from heat, add 1/4 of the hot milke to the bowl that step 2, and mix well. Repeat until all the milk incoporate. This is the custard pudding liquid!
- Next, tip the liquid into the measuring cup.
After, tip the liquid into the heat resistant containers of pudding while straining.
(This time, you should take care about that each containers have same quantity liquid.) - After finish the step 5, lay the gauze fabric in the large pot. And the three containers move into the large pot.
- Next, add the water to the pot until fill up outside of containers halfway.
- Finaly, put the lid on the pot and put the pot on midium heat.
When steam is rising, turn the heat down. And steam on the low heat for 20-30 minutes. After, stop heating. Once the custard pudding is cooled, them in the fridg until get cold. And enjoy!
(when gently shake, only the surface a little ripples as a guidline to stop steaming.)
You’ll can see that this custard pudding contains a lot of sugar while you make the custard pudding. If you take care about your health, you can decrease 20 grams of sugar from this recipe’s.
However, you can modify more specially one because this custard pudding is basic. For example, you can add some decoration like caramel sauce or whipped cream. In addition, this is smooth texture custard pudding, but if you like hard textures’, I recommend you that you steam more 5-10 minutes in the step 8.
You can make easy custard pudding whit just mix the three ingredients and steam it, so I grad you enjoy it!
